Corporate Kids Events, a company that specializes in event childcare, teamed up with Cure GM1 Foundation in Irvine, CA in October 2018 for the 2 nd GM1 Symposium. Corporate Kids Events had done an event for Cure GM1 previously. This event includes leading speakers in GM1 research and pioneers in gene therapy. The speakers are travelling from far and wide to provide updates and information to patients in person.
Cure GM1 is a non profit foundation with a mission to fun research for the benefit of those who suffer from GM1 gangliosidosis. GM1 gangliosidosis is an inherited lysosomal storage disorder that damages nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The purpose of the international Symposium is primarily education. The speakers included patients, family members, scientists and bio-tech professionals from around the world.
Corporate Kids Events allowed families to bring their children with them to this one day conference and enjoy their own special side kids event with the them of Arts and Crafts Extravaganza™ while the parents learned more about the GM1 condition. We organized many activities for the kids including crafts, dancing and games, which the kids really enjoyed.
Corporate Kids Events hosted around 20 kids for this 1 day event childcare kids camp managed by our own Lucy Leon. “The kids were all non-verbal so myself and the special needs trained staff had to find creative ways to communicate with the them. We focused on facial expressions and body movements- such as dancing!” reports Lucy.
This 2nd GM1 Symposium event in Irvine, CA was located at the Hotel Irvine with
