I have worked with CKE for about 10 years. I have enjoyed every event I have worked. My family lives in Southwest FL. I have been in the education field for about 18 years and am currently a KG-1 special needs teacher at a private school.
Brian, National Program Manager
Brian has a heart as big as the state that he calls home, Texas. As a man of faith, he loves God and his family first and foremost and loves being a part of CKE. If you don’t find him playing with his own children or grandchildren you will find him behind the mixing console, producing music. Brian calls the Dallas area home with his wife TJ, twin boys Sean and Chet known as the Michaelz Monsterz, and their family dogs.
Sheleata, National Program Manager
I’ve had the pleasure of working with CKE for several years as a staff member before taking the position as a program manager. Being a person that never meets a stranger I love the opportunity it gives to meet and interact with kids and their parents from many different areas.
National Alopecia Areata Kids Camp in June 2022
Corporate Kids Events, a conference childcare company that provides nationwide services, teamed up with the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) for their 40th Anniversary and 37th Annual International Conference on June 30th through July 3rd, 2022.
The event took place in Washington, D.C. and was their first conference since 2019 due to COVID-19. This conference was aimed at connecting and networking with people and parents with similar challenges and included special guests, medical professionals and expert researchers for the parents and a very fun week long kinds camp for the kids aged 5-17yrs old. This is one of several events NAAF has each year and Corporate Kids Events has been providing childcare for the group for over 15 years.
NAAF was established in 1981 to offer support to those affected by Alopecia Areata. NAAF’s various support programs and resources offer different ways to create a sense of community amongst individuals with Alopecia and their families. Alopecia is an autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the hair follicles which results in unpredictable hair loss that can often come out in patches. NAAF has now been providing support to those with the condition for over 4 decades.

With the help of Corporate Kids Events, the NAAF Conference attendees were able to bring their children to the weeklong conference. While the parents attended their events, the kids enjoyed a wide array of activities, special guests, entertainment and conference childcare at the same location in different conference rooms as well as off site for field trips.
Corporate Kids Events hosted 100 kids aged 5-17 years. Our Program Managers: Lucy, Sam and Nicole have worked with the group previously so the kids knew them from previous camps. In addition we had around 20 local staff from the D.C. area. Lucy reported her favorite part of the event was, “being able to see the kids being so free and to see them grow over the years.” This was the 13th NAAF event Lucy had been a part of and had seen many of the kids when they were very young to now teenagers. Lucy Leon is one of the Senior Program Managers with Corporate Kids Events and has been managing events nationwide for over 13 years.

Each of the event days, the kids had different activities or a field trip. The teens favorite was the field trip the Smithsonian Museum of National History where they got to visit the Butterfly Pavilion, Archeology, Ancient Animals and Pirate Treasures. Visiting the museum was an opportunity for the teens to learn, be inspired and to bring change to communities. Another special part of this conference childcare program was the special guests: Ayanna Pressley, US State Representative and Charlie Villanueva, NBA Superstar, both whom have Alopecia Areata. Meeting these influential individuals gave the kids inspiration to not let their condition get in the way of their dreams. “It was very inspiring,” reported Chris Walker, one of our local DC staff, “I was emotionally touched by these kids and had an awesome time getting to know them.”
And that is a wrap, another successful and fun conference childcare event complete!
The International NAAF Conference was held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on June 30th– July 3rd, 2022. You can learn more about Alopecia and NAAF by visiting their website (www.naaf.org).

Strong Bonds Kids Camp in Blaine Washington April 30th-May 2nd, 2021
Corporate Kids Events, an event childcare company that operates nationwide, collaborated with Strong Bonds to hold a shell event for the organization that aims to foster relationships within the military family. This event took place in the beautiful Blaine, Washington on April 30th to May 2nd. This is one of several events Strong Bonds will be holding this year and Corporate Kids Events is looking forward to be working with them throughout 2021.
Strong Bonds is a unit-based, chaplain-led program that assists commanders in building individual resiliency by strengthening the Army Family. The core mission of the Strong Bonds program is to increase individual Soldier and Family member readiness through relationship education and skills training. Strong Bonds is conducted in an offsite retreat format in order to maximize the training effect. The retreat or “get away” provides a fun, safe, and secure environment in which to address the impact of relocations, deployments, and military lifestyle stressors (Strong Bonds.org, 2021).
Corporate Kids Events gave Strong Bonds the opportunity for families to bring their children to the 3-day conference. While the parents participated in the adult training, Corporate Kids Events entertained the kids in another conference room to have their own super fun event with other military kids. With concerns of COVID-19 Strong Bonds and Corporate Kids Events took special care to ensure everyone’s safety including mandatory temperature checks daily upon entry, mandatory mask wearing and social distancing when possible. Corporate Kids Events also provided gloves, hand sanitizer and cleaning products to keep toys, games and surfaces disinfected and safe for everyone to use.
Corporate Kids Events hosted 8 children under age 8yrs old, managed by Senior National Program Manager, Julie Piper. Julie has been a part of the company for over 10 years. Four local staff, half of which have worked with us on previous event childcare programs, accompanied Julie to assist with the kids. Julie reported her favorite part of the kids camp was, “I loved watching the babies interact with each other.” One of the local staff members, Lia, said her favorite part of the event, “was the crafts, games and dancing.”
Each of the days had a different theme to keep things exciting for the kids including, Beach Day, Pirates and Western. For each theme Julie and the staff introduced games, crafts and activities specific to the particular theme. The most favorite activities were the fun games that Julie created around pirates and the beach ball toss. Games help kids become confident in social settings, foster team work and also allows them to think creatively. Because the kids were of a younger age group for this program, the goal was to keep the kids happy and entertained so the parents could finish their sessions without interruption.
A funny thing that happened during the event childcare program was with a 7-year old that was having a difficult time leaving Mom and Dad and did not want to be there with the kids camp group and staff. By the 3rd session (out of 4), he said, “Miss Julie, if this is a dream, it’s the best dream ever!” shared Julie. How cute!
Well, there you have it, another successful and fun conference childcare event complete!
