Strong Bonds Kids Camp in Blaine Washington April 30th-May 2nd, 2021

May 19, 2021 By Nicole Weaver

Corporate Kids Events, an event childcare company that operates nationwide, collaborated with Strong Bonds to hold a shell event for the organization that aims to foster relationships within the military family. This event took place in the beautiful Blaine, Washington on April 30th to May 2nd. This is one of several events Strong Bonds will be holding this year and Corporate Kids Events is looking forward to be working with them throughout 2021.

Strong Bonds is a unit-based, chaplain-led program that assists commanders in building individual resiliency by strengthening the Army Family. The core mission of the Strong Bonds program is to increase individual Soldier and Family member readiness through relationship education and skills training. Strong Bonds is conducted in an offsite retreat format in order to maximize the training effect. The retreat or “get away” provides a fun, safe, and secure environment in which to address the impact of relocations, deployments, and military lifestyle stressors (Strong Bonds.org, 2021).Corporate Kids Events gave Strong Bonds the opportunity for families to bring their children to the 3-day conference. While the parents participated in the adult training, Corporate Kids Events entertained the kids in another conference room to have their own super fun event with other military kids. With concerns of COVID-19 Strong Bonds and Corporate Kids Events took special care to ensure everyone’s safety including mandatory temperature checks daily upon entry, mandatory mask wearing and social distancing when possible. Corporate Kids Events also provided gloves, hand sanitizer and cleaning products to keep toys, games and surfaces disinfected and safe for everyone to use.

Corporate Kids Events hosted 8 children under age 8yrs old, managed by Senior National Program Manager, Julie Piper. Julie has been a part of the company for over 10 years. Four local staff, half of which have worked with us on previous event childcare programs, accompanied Julie to assist with the kids. Julie reported her favorite part of the kids camp was, “I loved watching the babies interact with each other.” One of the local staff members, Lia, said her favorite part of the event, “was the crafts, games and dancing.”

Each of the days had a different theme to keep things exciting for the kids including, Beach Day, Pirates and Western. For each theme Julie and the staff introduced games, crafts and activities specific to the particular theme. The most favorite activities were the fun games that Julie created around pirates and the beach ball toss. Games help kids become confident in social settings, foster team work and also allows them to think creatively. Because the kids were of a younger age group for this program, the goal was to keep the kids happy and entertained so the parents could finish their sessions without interruption.

A funny thing that happened during the event childcare program was with a 7-year old that was having a difficult time leaving Mom and Dad and did not want to be there with the kids camp group and staff. By the 3rd session (out of 4), he said, “Miss Julie, if this is a dream, it’s the best dream ever!” shared Julie. How cute!

Well, there you have it, another successful and fun conference childcare event complete!

The Strong Bonds event was held at the Semiahmoo Lodge in Blaine, Washington, April 30th-May 2nd, 2021 with 8 child campers. You can find out more about Strong Bonds by visiting their website (www.strongbonds.org).

For each theme Debbie and the staff introduced games, crafts and activities specific to the particular theme. The most favourite activities were decorating the craft take home bags with beads and sequins and also when one of the staff members played music for the kids for games like duck-duck-goose and musical chairs. The kids had the unique opportunity to in that a staff member brought an instrument to play! Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It also helps the body and mind work together and was just an overall fun extra the kids got to enjoy in Vail. The mother of the twins previously mentioned, Julia, reported, “Debbie and her team were absolutely wonderful! I have twin daughters who are 6 months old and up until last weekend at the Strong Bonds Marriage Retreat in Vail, Colorado, I had never had anyone watch them, except for my husband. Debbie made me feel so much better and allowed me to ask any questions I’d like about the care my daughters would be receiving. I felt totally at peace leaving them with her and her team during the retreat.”

February 11, 2021 By Nicole Weaver

Corporate Kids Events, a Nationwide and International event childcare company, collaborated with Nebraska Farm Bureau to hold the Young Farmers and Ranchers 2021 Conference in Kearney. This is one of several conferences Corporate Kids Events has held for the organization over the years.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference aims to equip farmers, ranchers and agribusiness professionals aged 18-35 develop leadership and networking skills, as well as coming together as a whole to share information and experiences. Each conference features innovative tours, dynamic speakers, and several breakout sessions. The NFB has been conducting these meetings for over 50 years! It’s a great opportunity to for the younger generation of farmers to learn and grow their businesses.

Corporate Kids Events gave NFB the opportunity for families to bring their children to the 2 –day Conference. The kids were taken to another part of the building to have their own fun kids event childcare while the parents participated in the Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference. With concerns of COVID-19 Corporate Kids and the NFB took special care ensure everyone’s safety including, mandatory temperature checks upon entry, mandatory mask wearing, social distancing as well, Corporate Kids Events provided hand sanitizer, cleaning products and gloves to keep surfaces, toys and supplies disinfected for the use of kids and staff.

Corporate Kids hosted 10 children for the kids camp with ages from infant to school age managed by Stacey Woodzell, one of our long time National Program Managers. She was accompanied by 4 local Kearney staff, all who fully enjoyed the experience of working with the kids. Stacey reported her favorite part of the kids camp was, “seeing the children happy to be playing and interacting with the other children.”

The theme of the event was Beach and Pirates. This centered on activities and craft projects that surrounded a day at sea such as mask making with real “jewels” as well a scavenger hunt and a beach balloon game.

The scavenger hunt, always a kid favorite focuses on team building, socialization as well as builds communication skills. They are required to search for items in the space and check them off a list. A very pirate-y activity indeed resembling treasure hunting! The beach balloon toss was another fun game and allowed the kids to use some energy while playing with balloons in an open room.

One of the staff mentioned something funny to Stacey, “ Watching the two babies play and communicate was very funny and cute. Neither talked but understood what each other wanted by making noises.” And there you have it, another exciting kids camp complete!

May 8, 2019 By Nicole Weaver

Corporate Kids Events, a Nationwide and International Organization that does event childcare, partnered with the Nebraska Hemophilia Foundation in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 27th, 2019 for their Family Education Weekend. “The kids decorated their own masks and picture frames and I printed pictures of them to put inside,” adds Debbie. Art is great for kids so they can develop creative problem solving skills. It also with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

The event also included many activities such as duck-duck-goose, twister and learning about blood diseases from the Nebraska Hemophilia. A few of these kids have Hemophilia, and a few all related to someone who does, so it is informative to learn about this illness and how to care for someone with the condition.

The kids especially enjoyed the CKE art theme, “I liked all the art, “ reports a 4-year old. “ I liked how we got to play extra games and make masks,” reports one of the 8-year olds.

Sue, one of the event vendors commented, “I have done activities in the kids room for both CO and NE Hemophilia events and the staff in both locations have been excellent in helping each child feel welcome, along with myself.
