Juvenile Arthritis Kids Camp in Minneapolis with Corporate Kids Events

November 5, 2019 By Nicole Weaver

Corporate Kids Events, a Nationwide and International company that does conference childcare, teamed up with the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation an organization, in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 1st-4th 2019, for their popular JA Summer Conference.  Corporate Kids Events hosts events for the JA Foundation every year for several years now. This year we hosted JA Programs in Minneapolis, Anaheim, Boston, Indianapolis and Houston.

The Juvenile Arthritis Foundation (JA), “leads the way in providing support to children with juvenile arthritis and their families through funding research, advocating for kids, creating awareness, providing education and hosting events.” The JA Summer Conference in Minneapolis was three full days of educational sessions led by experts in the rheumatology, healthcare and other related fields. These meetings present a unique opportunity for learning, sharing and networking and are helpful to those with juvenile arthritis and their families.

Superhero Presentation

Corporate Kids Events gave the opportunity for families to bring their children with them to this 3-day conference childcare event and enjoy their own side special kids camp with the theme of Superheros™ while the parents learned more about juvenile arthritis. The kids also had several educational sessions from the JA Foundation staff about living with arthritis and understanding what it means to have arthritis.

We prepared several activities for the kids including a Teen Scavenger Hunt, Taking your Panda Bear to it’s appointment to reduce their own fear of Doctors and several arts and craft projects, which the kids always really enjoy!

Corporate Kids hosted 313 children for this 3-day kids camp, managed by our team of 8 Program Managers and lead by our own Stacey Woodzel, “My favorite part of the event was watching the first time families and children meet new friends they can relate to,” reports Stacey.

Having a chronic illness and going to the Doctors can be scary, so JA had an activity to take your Panda to the Doctor. This was a way for kids to have less fear of the medical system and be there to listen to what the “Doctor” was telling their Panda. This helped with their learning and understanding of JA, as well as knowing Doctors are there to help them.

Another activity favorite was the teen scavenger hunt. The teens had a blast exploring the hotel to check of the items on their lists. Scavenger hunts allow kids to practice problem solving in a tangible way. In addition, the teens got some exercise because they incorporated clues to get them moving. Having the teens in small groups also helps build teamwork, they have to work together to solve clues and arrive at the final destination.

Hayden’s Mom, Hayden was one of the younger campers, mentioned, “This has been his favorite camp so far and he has attended 4 of them. He really connected with the staff.”

This JA Summer Conference was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was located at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis with 313 child attendees. You can learn more about the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation by visiting their website (www.arthritis.org).

We look forward to hosting many more events with JA in the future! Thank you for your trust in Corporate Kids Events!

NHF Presentation at the Kids Camp

Corporate Kids Events gave the opportunity for families to bring their children with them to this 3-day conference childcare event and enjoy their own side special kids camp with the theme of Superheros™ while the parents learned more about Hemophilia and blood disorders. The kids also had a educational session from the NHF staff about living with someone that has a blood disorder and what that means.

We prepared several activities for the kids including a “Kids Balloon Challenge” and “How to Deal with Bullying”, as well as multiple arts and craft projects, which the kids always really enjoy.

Corporate Kids hosted 45 children for this 3-day kids camp, managed by our own Drenette and Darren Smith, a husband a wife duo and 2 of our Senior Program Managers. “My favorite part of the event was watching the children bond with new friends while learning about their condition. There were some great teaching moments during this activity,” reports Drenette.

The kids learning about Hemophilia through art

The Kids Balloon Challenge focused on team building and how to build a community of support with team work by having some blow up balloons, some tape balloons one to another and the building a tower. This activity is not only fun, but assists with social skills and working with a group to help complete a goal.

Another activity was teaching the kids how to deal with Bullies. The focus was on overcoming meanness with kindness as well as helping them be aware of their words and how it can make others feel. This activity included role-playing and demonstrations by our staff. It was informative and fun!

Scout, one of the campers mentioned “My favorite part of the conference was that I got to hang out with my friends while learning at the same time, so it made it like a fun learning environment.”

This NHF Inhibitor event in Indianapolis, Indiana was located at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis with 45 child attendees. You can learn more about the National Hemophilia Foundation by visiting their website (www.hemophilia.org).

LGS Foundation Kids Camp Hosted by Corporate Kids Events

May 22, 2019 By Nicole Weaver

Corporate Kids Events, an organization that provides conference childcare, teamed up with the LGS Foundation (Lennox Gastaut Syndrome) a non-profit organization in Renton, Washington on May 10th-12th of 2019 for the International Family and Professional Conference on LGS. Corporate Kids events had done many special needs kids camps and this would be the first for the Foundation. The event was located on the beautiful Hyatt Lake Washington and welcomed 350 families.

The LGS Foundation is an organization dedicated to providing information about Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome while raising funds for research, services and support for individuals living with LGS and their families. The Foundation is based in New York and provides services and information to  thousands of members across the world.

Corporate Kids Events allowed families to bring their children with them to this 3-day conference and the kids participated in their own fun side event with the theme of Arts and Crafts Extravaganzza ™ while the  parents learned more about LGS research, support, professional educators and socialization. We organized many activities for the kids which included, arts and crafts, games and playing music together, which the kids loved!

Corporate Kids Events hosted 34 children for this 3-day conference childcare program, managed by our own Miss Lucy Leon. “It was amazing to see the LGS kids and non-affected siblings interacting and having a great time with each other,” reports Lucy.

Playing music is great for any child to teach them rhythm, brain development, memory and helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. “My favorite part was when we all played music, the whole room seemed to come alive and kids of all abilities had a fantastic time!” adds Lucy.

“The board games and cards were a bit hit!” said Lucy. Board games play a big role in children’s brain development and growth. Kids playing board games helps them to gain logical and reasoning skills, boost critical thinking and communication…its also really fun.

The arts and crafts activities were also very well enjoyed by the kids. “The kids really loved all the coloring and gluing,” Lucy adds. Art is a non-judgemental form of human expression and also boosts creativity. The kids loved creating art projects with their peers and our staff at this conference childcare event.

Many of the specially trained staff were extremely excited to work with the special needs LGS Kids. Everyone learned quite a lot, the kids had a fantastic time and everyone was very well cared for.

This LGS Foundation event in Renton, Washington was located at the Hyatt Lake Washington Seattle Seaport Hotel with 350 families in attendance. You can learn more about the LGS Foundation by visiting their website www.lgsfoundation.org

Corporate Kids Events, a Nationwide and International Organization that does event childcare, partnered with the Nebraska Hemophilia Foundation in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 27th, 2019 for their Family Education Weekend. It also with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

The event also included many activities such as duck-duck-goose, twister and learning about blood diseases from the Nebraska Hemophilia. A few of these kids have Hemophilia, and a few all related to someone who does, so it is informative to learn about this illness and how to care for someone with the condition.

The kids especially enjoyed the CKE art theme, “I liked all the art, “ reports a 4-year old. “ I liked how we got to play extra games and make masks,” reports one of the 8-year olds.
