Ellen Howe is the Office Manager for Corporate Kids Events. Ellen designs and implements office operations and procedures, oversees record maintenance -ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of data; handles correspondence, bookkeeping; communicates with event managers and vendors, and solves problems on a daily basis. Ellen lives in Grass Valley, California.
Donna Abreu, Marketing Strategist
As the Marketing Strategist at Corporate Kids Events, Inc., Donna is responsible for the corporate website and all of the on-line marketing efforts. Her background is in software design and implementation, marketing and project management. She hold an Operations Research Engineering degree from Cornell University. Currently she lives in Penn Valley, CA with her two children and husband.
Nicole Weaver, Staffing Manager
Nicole is our Staffing Director and also helps out with Social Media and Marketing. Her role at Corporate Kids Events involves Hiring, Staffing Events, Staff Correspondence, Screening and maintaining the Regional Staff Databases. Currently, she also is working on helping to make CKE the front-runner in Conference Childcare by doing outreach, creating blogs, music videos of our events and increasing our online presence.
Nicole has had a wide variety of work experiences including working with several non-profits, assisting small business start-ups, fundraising, accounting, forestry, working on government environmental projects and starting her own businesses. She also taught swim lessons to young kids and was a swimming and diving coach for several years as well as a lifeguard.
Originally from the west coast of Canada, Nicole lives in Grass Valley with her little terrier, Scruffy. She loves hiking in the Tahoe area, swimming in the Yuba River, nature photography and doing anything outside.
Terry Grim, IT Consultant
CKE veteran and former National Program Manager, Terry Grim, now serves as IT consultant and occasional Program Manager. Terry runs CKE’s online program registration system and company portal.
Terry and wife Gia have two grown daughters and live in Nevada City, CA. Terry was a CASA for Nevada County, and has worked extensively in summer camps.
Mike Whittle, General Manager & Lead Planner
Mike is Corporate Kids Events General Manager and Lead Event Planner. His role at CKE includes childcare event contracting, planning, and scheduling. In addition, Mike manages the assignments and arrangements for CKE’s 50+ Program Managers.
Mike’s professional background is in the classroom as he was an elementary and middle school general and special education teacher for 12 years.
Mike holds a BA in Communication Studies, and CA K-12 Teaching Credential from California State University, Sacramento, and Special Education Mild-Moderate Credential from California State University, Chico as well. Mike has also worked as a residential camp director and youth sports coach for several years.
He currently lives in Grass Valley, CA with his wife Delphi and their two French bulldogs. Mike’s nest has emptied (other than the bulldogs of course), his son Page recently graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Music and Recording Arts, and his daughter Alexandra attends UC Davis and is majoring in Biology. Mike enjoys playing golf on his free time and is an avid reader.
